Ana Kate slept great last night!  She fell asleep at 8pm and got up this morning at 9am!!  This is the most she has EVER slept...maybe she's starting to like sleep?  She did really well with only one little wake-up (poor baby had some stomach issues), so I had to change a very messy diaper, but she went right back to sleep.  I'm thinking this no nap routine might work!

We stayed at home today and plan to go shopping when Doug gets home.  Whitney's birthday is tomorrow and it really snuck up on me this year.  I am also one of the speakers at our MOPS meeting on Friday and I am just a tiny bit nervous.  I am speaking about adoption, so I think I'll enjoy it.  I just pray that my words will clearly demonstrate how God worked in our lives through our adoption journey, and hopefully encourage others to explore adoption and understand what an amazing blessing it is.  I haven't really prepared anything, just speaking from my heart, but I will post about it Friday or Saturday and try to remember it all.  : )

I took pictures while we played outside today.  Another beautiful was actually hot after being out there for a while!  So, since pictures are done and we're going shopping tonight, I thought I'd post early today.

We stayed around the house today cleaning, reading our library books, and playing outside.  Ana Kate slept in again this morning, so I opted for no nap and we are currently trying to keep her up at least until 8pm.  If she has a good night, then we'll start on this new no-nap schedule.  We'll see.  Normally I would think it was crazy to not have a 2yr old nap, but she just doesn't do well at night when she naps.  It's a work in we'll see how it goes.

We had another gorgeous day here was sunny and very warm!  It was also windy, so when Doug got home from work we took Ana Kate to the park to fly kites.  She loved it!  I got some great pictures and we all had a lot of fun.  Just in case you're wondering about her mismatched outfit...Ana Kate's medicine is causing some umm, stomach issues and we had a blowout as soon as we arrived at the park.  It was I was just thankful I had an extra pair of pants in her bag...and they really weren't that badly mismatched.  I'm so glad we didn't wear training pants this week like I had originally planned!  : )

We had a great night last night...yay!  We did have a rough start...Ana Kate started coughing about an hour after bed, but once I got her settled again she slept all night with barely a sound.  We watched cartoons this morning and then after her bath we colored Easter eggs.  She loved it!  It seems like when I was a kid it took all day to color eggs, but we were done in less than an hour.  So either the dye works better now, or it just seemed like it took all day back then.  : )

This afternoon we played outside, painted our toe nails in 'Poppy' colored polish, and took a walk to the library.  It was such a beautiful warm and sunny day...we had SO much fun!

I had decided over the weekend that Ana Kate may not need naps anymore because it seems like she stays up until midnight when she naps.  So, I didn't attempt to make her nap today.  She slept in late, so I figured she really wouldn't be tired.  I know I've mentioned before how Ana Kate talks all the time (seriously...all..the..time) we were walking back from the library and I noticed that it was quiet...really quiet.  So I peeked around the stroller and she was fast asleep!  She is still asleep at it may be another midnight bedtime tonight!

I am happy to say that Ana Kate is feeling much better.  Still coughing and a bit cranky, but no fever today.  She didn't go to bed until really late last night, but she slept through the night and we all finally got some much needed rest!  Yay!  Since we spent all day yesterday at the doctor we thought we'd get out and do some shopping today.  We had a good time and found a few was nice just to be out and have Daddy with us.

I've had a couple of comments about Ana Kate's cute outfits and I have to say that I love buying clothes and shoes for her...and sometimes I go a little overboard.  I shop at a lot of different places, but most of her clothes are from Gap.  I buy a few things from Old Navy and The Childrens Place but lately I haven't been impressed with their selections.  She also has a lot of Osh Kosh dresses and outfits and I love how you can mix and match all of their stuff.  I also buy a lot of her solid pieces and summer dresses from Target.  They have some really cute and cheap clothes.  I found some super cute capri legging with ruffles on the bottom at Target the other day for only $4!!  I do buy some of her stuff at smaller local stores and  the typical mall stores...but most of my favorites are from Gap.  Shoes are tough to buy for Ana Kate because she has really long and narrow feet.  So when I buy something with a little toe room they fall off of her heels.  We just bought a ton of summer flip flops from Gap and Target and then she has a couple of nice pairs of sandals from Famous Footwear.

Photos were super quick tonight in our favorite spot (the front porch)...and it was getting cold, so we rushed!  Not much else to say tonight...I'm going to wrap this up and go watch The Amazing Race.

I know yesterday I talked about having a few rough nights this past week...well, all of those nights combined were nothing compared with last night!  Ana Kate was miserable and started running a fever, so she was up for most of the night.  Her cough was just terrible and even though I gave her medicine every 4 hours her fever just wouldn't go away.  This morning she wasn't much better so we decided to take her to the doctor.  Since it was Saturday we had to go to convenient care rather than her regular doctor and it...was...packed!  We waited about 4 hours before she was finally seen.  They examined her, took a chest x-ray, and gave us lots of prescriptions.  The good news is that she doesn't have pneumonia, but she might have a mild case of bronchitis and/or a viral infection.  So after two more hours we finally made it home!  What a Saturday....

I just gave her a bath and her medicine and we took a couple of pictures on the front porch in her pj's.  Now she's watching cartoons with Daddy.  Since she's feeling so bad, we won't be making it to church tonight.  I'm making one more run to the store and then I'm done for the night....I think we'll all be going to bed early!  : )

We had yet another rough night last night.  Ana Kate's cough has really been messing with her sleep.  She has a very light gag reflex, so when she coughs a lot she usually throws up.  So last night was the 4th night of dealing with much fun at 12:30.  I did manage to get her to the bathroom in time last night, so I didn't have to deal with a bath and changing clothes and sheets.  I hope she gets over this quickly...I hate it when she's all congested and coughing.  : (

We went shopping today for a little while just to get out of the house and then we spent some time outside.  It was sunny here, but not as warm as I would like.  I think we're supposed to have rain tomorrow and then hopefully it will start warming up again.

This morning we met some of the MOPS Moms at Jump Zone so the kids could play.  Ana Kate was a little bit hesitant, but finally got the hang of all the slides and had a great time.  The biggest problem was that it's Spring Break, so there were too many big kids there and they were a bit rough for the little after about an hour we headed home.

Whitney had a doctor's appointment today, so she was at home most of the day.  I picked up Sonic for her and Ana Kate and they had lunch together.  Ana Kate loves being with her big sister!

Not too much else going on today.  Ana Kate has a bit of a cough and really couldn't settle down for her nap, so she's been cranky today.  It's been rainy and cloudy most of the day, so I really didn't put much effort into the photos.

I woke up this morning with a headache and it was cloudy outside, so we didn't do too much today.  I did a few loads of laundry, made sure Ana Kate took a nap, and tried to get rid of my headache before our outing.

So tonight we took Ana Kate to see Nickelodeon Storytime Live at the Walton Arts Center.  We had a great time.  I think she really enjoyed it, but didn't get quite as excited as we thought she would.  She really watched Kai-Lan and Dora the best.  She kept asking for the Wonder Pets, but she really didn't pay attention to them, so I guess the story wasn't that captivating.  In all though she had fun and behaved really well.  Afterwards we went to out to eat and I took a couple of pictures at the restaurant.  We have another activity in the morning, so I need to get off of here and go to bed!

Another beautiful day today, so lots of time spent outside!  Ana Kate really wasn't too interested in pictures, so I didn't take too many.  I've really been struggling this week with the 365 project, so I'm going to keep it pretty short tonight.

Tomorrow we have a fun activity planned for Ana Kate...she is super excited!  Hopefully I'll be able to take some pictures.

Today was a beautiful day!  Back in the 50's after all that snow yesterday....such an odd start to spring.  We didn't do a lot around here today.  Whitney's day off from school is Monday, so we all just stayed at home.  Ana Kate really fought her nap today, so that kind of interrupted my plans to go grocery shopping this afternoon.  I guess we'll do that tomorrow.  We didn't get outside until after nap but it was so warm and the sun was gorgeous!  I got quite a few pictures, but we didn't stay out very long because all that melting snow made the grass such a mess.  Hoping for another warm day tomorrow.

i heart faces - angles

This week the theme at i heart faces is 'focusing on angles'.  I have been trying to shoot some new angles in the past couple of months, so this photo immediately came to mind.  Head over to to check out all the great photos this week.
