Well I finally moved all of my previous posts to a new blog address. I am still updating it, so the look will change over the next week or so.
We've been busy the last couple of weeks. My brother and his family came to visit and Ana Kate had a lot of fun with cousin Brad who is about 7 months older than her. They played pretty well together, but did have a few struggles over certain toys. Ana Kate definitely does not like to share...hopefully she'll get better as she gets older. We had a great time while they were here.
We also had lots of school shopping to do. Ana Kate did pretty well considering that Whitney can shop for hours and hours. We had a couple of meltdowns, but nothing too bad. She does really well in the stroller as long as we're moving, but she hates being in the cart at wal-mart. She does ok for about 10 - 15 minutes and then will wiggle and struggle and start crying. She doesn't want to be held though, she wants down to run free. So we're currently working on that issue. But all in all we got through two days of shopping with baby girl and Whitney got some cute clothes and all of her school supplies....so mission accomplished.
Whitney started back to school yesterday, so we were all up and moving early yesterday morning. Ana Kate was even up at 6:30, which is pretty early for her. Whitney's school also held their kick-off celebration for the football season last night and the cheer and pom squads performed. They just built a new stadium and it is very nice....and the girls did a great job on their dances. Ana Kate was a little restless, but she did like it when the band played...she even danced for us.
Enjoy the pictures.

This is how Ana Kate fell asleep last night (and yes that is the dog sleeping on the Boppy pillow).

We've been pretty lazy this week and haven't ventured out much. We tried to take a walk to the park, but it was so hot it was just miserable (and that was at 7pm). The temperature has been in the high 90's here and we're supposed to have a couple of 100+ days this week. Ana Kate has been busy regardless....she's figured out a few new ways to get into things. She recently learned how to climb onto the couch and the fireplace. I've discouraged her from climbing onto the fireplace for the most part, but she still tries occasionally.
I've included a few pictures from the week. One of them I posted shows her funny looking tongue....she gets what they call 'geographic tongue' when she's on antibiotics and she's been on antibiotics recently for an ear infection. One day the spots resembled a heart....it was pretty neat looking. She's done with the antibiotics now though....so her tongue is getting back to normal. Enjoy.
