Today we headed out early for my MOPS meeting.  We had a great speaker and it was a lot of fun seeing all my MOPS friends.  On the way home we stopped by Target and Ana Kate picked out a new DVD.  She loves dolphins, so we got Flipper and she has already watched it twice today.  I don't mind though because it is a good movie.  After Target we came home for lunch and then went to a couple more stores.

Tonight I met up with some friends for dinner and a movie.  It was so nice to catch up with Amanda, Lena, and Sudha.  We went to see the movie 'Babies' and it was really cute...it's very interesting to see how different cultures raise babies.  We had a great time and hopefully will do it again sometime.

Pictures are taken out on the front porch when it was cloudy today...Ana Kate was trying out her new bubbles and having a great time!

We had a quiet, boring day today.  I have had a headache all day, so that was fine with me.  I finally managed to get Ana Kate down for a nap around 3pm and was able to get some rest too.  Unfortunately I still had a headache when I woke up and she still doesn't want to go to bed tonight.

We have an early day tomorrow, so I'm going to try to get some rest.  Enjoy the pictures.

A bird built her nest on the other side of one of our high windows in our game room.  We knew she had eggs in there, but just realized yesterday the eggs had hatched.  So, we brought a ladder in to get a peek at them.  The ladder is barely tall enough, but I tried to get a good picture.  I think there are 3 baby birds in there...but there might be a 4th one.  I will try to get more pictures of them as they grow.

Ana Kate slept great last night!  We headed out to do some shopping after lunch and I thought she might fall asleep in the car, but she didn't....so no nap today either.  Ana Kate talked to EVERYONE in all the stores we went in.  She is such a talker!  It can be exhausting sometimes....but I love how social she is.  : )  We got her a cardboard playhouse today and she LOVED it!!  She helped me put it together and then played in it all afternoon.

When Doug got home from work we headed to Sam's.  When we were there Ana Kate threw a huge fit because I wouldn't let her walk unless she held my hand....it was awful!  I just tried to be patient and explain why she had to sit in the cart, but she really wasn't listening to me.  She eventually calmed down, but it was obvious that she was tired...so I expect her to fall asleep early again tonight.  After Sam's we went by Mimi's house and then came home.  I took pictures just before dark and Ana Kate didn't want to cooperate....so I got the umbrellas out again.

I thought I'd share a funny conversation that I had with Ana Kate while I was giving her a bath today...

Ana Kate:  Mommy I want to go see Sharlette (my Aunt) and show her my mosquito bites.
Me:  Honey we can't go see Aunt Sharlette today.
Ana Kate:  Why not?
Me:  Because she lives far away (4 hours) and Mommy doesn't want to drive that far today.
Ana Kate:  Well....you can drive an airplane.
Me:  I don't know how to drive an airplane and besides we don't have an airplane.
Ana Kate:  Well...they're at the airport.

She amazes me at times with the things she knows.

We had a pretty rough night last night.  Ana Kate wasn't feeling well and fell asleep around 6pm, so she didn't want to go to bed at her normal time.  I tried to let her stay up a little longer, but she just wouldn't settle down....we didn't get in bed until almost 2am!  I was exhausted this morning!  I did not let her take a nap today, so I'm hoping we'll be back on schedule now.

We went to Hobby Lobby today to get a few things and Ana Kate was doing really well, but for some reason she just started throwing a fit!  It was very loud and I had a hard time getting her to listen to me, but after about 10 minutes I was finally able to calm her down.  Not sure what's up with that....maybe she's feeling the effects of staying up late as well.

If you are tired of hearing about Ana Kate's potty training progress you'll be happy to know that I won't be updating about it everyday anymore.  She is doing really well and I'm hoping we'll be done in a couple of weeks.  So I might do a week two and three update, but there's not much to say daily anymore.  She's doing great with the exception of an accident here or there, but she's a big girl now!

We had to go by the church this afternoon, so Ana Kate played on the playground there for a while and she has a great time.  I really need to take her to the park more often now that it's warm outside.  That may be our main activity tomorrow. 

Pictures are from before dinner.  I got some cute decorative umbrellas today and Ana Kate couldn't wait to get her hands on them.  I got them mainly for photography props and the blue one just happened to go with her outfit today.  I'm sure you'll see them in future pictures as well.  : )

Potty training day 7 went very smoothly.  Ana Kate hasn't had a pee accident in two days, so I think we have that down...we did have 2 poo accidents today though, so we still have work to do.  Sorry if that's TMI!  Anyway, she really seems to have the pee part down.  Not sure what's up with the other...I'm wondering if she likes her privacy when she's going??  We'll get there.  We went to Target today and were there for quite a while with no trips to the bathroom and she was dry when we got home.  I am almost confident enough to use regular underwear...maybe by the 3rd week.

In other areas we struggled today...Ana Kate just didn't want to listen to me at all.  It was very frustrating!  She didn't take a nap either, which didn't help the situation.  Later on this afternoon she complained that her belly hurts....she is still saying that.  Not sure what the problem is, but that could be why she was irritable today.  I'm hoping she feels better by tomorrow.
 
Not much else going on here.  I only took a couple of pictures since Ana Kate wasn't feeling good.

Today was a pretty lazy day for us.  I woke up not feeling good, so we hung out at home and watched cartoons mixed in with some Lifetime movies.  I took a nap when Ana Kate napped and felt much better when I got up.

Potty training day 6 was pretty good.  I haven't been asking or telling her to go as much (maybe every hour or two), so she did have 2 accidents today...but overall I think it's still going well.  She stayed dry for nap and overnight last night and she has gone to the potty without being asked.

Not much else going on here today.  Whitney and Josh helped Doug with some painting and yard work at the rental house this afternoon, then we had pizza for dinner and watched The Amazing Race.  I snapped a few quick pictures outside after dinner....the sunlight was beautiful!

Potty training day 5 went great!  Ana Kate was accident free all day at home.  I was a little worried about how she would do at church.  We had another long night teaching toddler class, then attending the second service.  She did have one accident in our class, but she was busy playing, so I guess that's to be expected.  Her teacher from the second service told us that Ana Kate told her she had to go...and did!  Yay!  I think she is getting it!  I'm so happy with the amazing progress that she's made...maybe we'll be accident free soon.

Not much going on here today.  I didn't take any pictures until after church, so this one is from inside with a very high ISO.  That's why I'm only posting one tonight.  It was grainy too, but I liked the effect with the post processing.  Ana Kate was watching her Barbie movie, so she was glued to the tv.
